Oskar's Big Boy Room Makeover

I wanted to share some pictures of the big boy room we've been putting together for 4-year-old Oskar, who, up until now, still had the same nursery art on the walls from when we first found out we were expecting. It was time to give him a more grown up space. Something for a little boy. When I first saw the "Wild and Free" metal sign, I knew his room would center around that: two words that have always described him just perfectly. Everything else fell in place around it, and it quickly became a whimsical little space to fit his personality. We were able to bring this to life on a limited budget, with the hope being to bring hardwood floors into our entire upstairs when we are able. For now, we're so happy with the before and after, and so is this little 4 year old, who is just growing up so fast.

I've included sources for most everything below, but if there's something missing that you're curious about, just ask!

The easiest wallpaper project that ever was. This is a peel-and-stick, and took Matt and I only a handful of hours to get it just right.

The alphabet rug is machine washable. Huge bonus.

Truthfully, we're still on the fence about the layered plaid rug, and my little Instagram poll was 50/50. Any thoughts welcome :)
We later added the Oskar flag, below.

I just love this name sign above his bed. A beautiful name for a beautiful boy.
Bed is from IKEA, and has served him so well.
